Autumn Playgrounds

Last week saw the Autumn equinox- when nights become longer than days- but at the rate this year is going autumn will have disappeared before you know it and winter will be here. It’s an ideal time to get those jobs done that you didn’t get time to do over summer before it gets too cold and damp outside.
It’s always important to make sure your timber play equipment is kept in the best condition, not only to prolong life but also to avoid any potential health and safety incidents. Treating your timber each year with a wood preservative is essential. This is also a good time to do a thorough check of your play products- make sure all fixings are tight and secure. Playsound offer a comprehensive maintenance service that can cover all aspects of maintenance.
The leaves will be falling off the trees now so to avoid slippy patches make sure they are swept away.
With the busy summer season behind us, it’s worth thinking about next year. Does your play area need redeveloping? Do you need to expand due to heavy use? What can you do to maximise the “fun factor” of your playground? It’s always helpful to be organised and keep ahead of yourself by planning for the future. We can provide you with plans and quotes to allow you time to sort your budget for 2017 or to apply for funding.
Even though the weather is deteriorating there’s still lots to see and do in your play area. Outdoor shelters provide covered areas when its raining, but even when it is wet embrace the weather and go on a Welly Walk to investigate the animals building up stocks for the winter. Take a look at our website for just a small sample of products we can provide you.
So make the most of this often beautiful time of year and go outdoors.
