June 2020

From a car park to a fun filled adventure playground.

Initially the area at Kirkham Grammar was completely empty with only car parking bays and a few sports markings on the existing tarmac surfacing. The school wanted to make more use of the corner within the car parking space and transform it into a more stimulating and physically challenging environment for their children. After further discussion with the school the final brief for this project was to create an adventure trim trail that would encourage lots more active play and physical development.Keeping the active element in mind, both our sales and design teams got together to created a couple of different concepts to propose back to the school. One design being a long liner layout and the other being a 3 way line formation. As you can see in the after photos shown below, the school opted for the second option. The final design consists of a great variety of our challenging and super fun Trim Trail equipment. These pieces range from balancing, traversing, climbing, swinging and more. All together these pieces build up 3 different traversing routes that can be used and adapted in various ways to make it a different experience each time it is used. To complete the area we finalised the ground with a wet pour safety surface.
