The outdoor redevelopment at Toddle Inn Day Nursery consisted of 3 different areas. 2-3yrs, Preschool and an Embankment Area. Before the works, all these areas needed some TLC and a good clean/ tidy up. The staff at the nursery came to us for our help to update these 3 spaces, so they could provide more fun and learning opportunities for the children.

Starting with the ‘2-3yrs’ corner. We cleared out their two existing sheds, plastic slide, rubber tiles and a huge tyre. Once emptied, we than installed one of our baby otter units. This small but climber is perfect for younger children and includes features such as: – a 0.6m high platform, balustrade sides, crawl through tunnel, timber steps, HDPE slide, and a shingle tiled roof.  We then finished off by laying artificial grass surfacing over the whole area to create a cleaner and safer ground for the children to have fun on.

Now onto the ‘preschool’ part of the playground. Toddle Inn’s original climber was very weathered so having a new one installed, was key to make it a much more safe and secure place to learn and play within. To transform this section – we designed a bespoke multi-tower climbing unit with a range of features such as: – a HDPE slide, timber steps, a ramp and rope, connecting bridge, scramble net and a vertical rock wall. We also installed our ‘twisty log walk’ to encourage children to develop their twisting and balance skills. As well a single sitting sandbox and timber playhouse were added to provide creative and imaginative play opportunities. Finally, both artificial grass surfacing and new brick edging were then laid to complete the space.

For the embankment area, the purpose of this part of the project was to turn an unused space into a fun and challenging area for children to use. To do this, we installed items like – Timber Steps, Rock rope and ramp, relocating of an existing slide, Scramble Net, Artificial Grass on the embankment and Resin Surfacing along the bottom.
